Privacy Policy
What personal information Mahalaxmi Enterprises collects, why we collect it, and what we do not do with it.
Last updated: 29 August 2026. This policy applies to mahalaxmi.astrasoft.info, to the records we keep when you bring equipment to us for repair, and to the internal Mahalaxmi Staff and Mahalaxmi Admin Android applications used by our own employees.
Who we are
Mahalaxmi Enterprises, Shop No. 03, Lower Ground, City Centre, Mahaveer Nagar Phase 2, Barmer, Rajasthan 344001, India. Proprietor: C. R. Godara.
For any question about this policy, or to ask what information we hold about you, contact us at mahalaxmienterprises@live.com or +91 99285 88458.
1. This website
This website has no accounts, no analytics and no cookies. We do not set a cookie, we do not use Google Analytics or any other tracking service, and nothing you type into a page on this site is stored on our web server.
The enquiry form
The enquiry form does not submit anything to us over the web. It assembles the details you enter into a WhatsApp message inside your own browser and opens WhatsApp so that you send it. Nothing reaches us unless you press send in WhatsApp; if you close the window instead, we never receive it.
Once you do send it, the message arrives as an ordinary WhatsApp message and is handled as described in section 2. Its delivery is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy, not by ours.
Third-party content on our pages
Two things on this site load from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page opens:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) — the typefaces used across the site. - The map on our Contact page — an embedded Google Map. It loads on that page only, and Google may set its own cookies through it.
The customer reviews shown on this site come from our public Google Business Profile. They are fetched by our server from Google rather than by your browser, and they are already public.
Our web server logs
Like any web server, ours records the requests it receives — IP address, time, page requested, browser identification. These are kept for the short period needed to run and secure the site. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared.
2. Information we hold about customers
When you buy from us, or hand over equipment for repair or installation, we record what is needed to do the job and to return your equipment to the right person:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and mobile number | To identify the job as yours, to tell you when it is ready, and to confirm at handover that we are returning equipment to its owner. |
| The equipment — type, brand, model, serial number | To tell one customer’s device from another, and so a repeat repair can be seen against its history. |
| The fault reported, our diagnosis, the work done, and the condition the item arrived in | To carry out and record the repair, to quote for it, and to settle any later question about what was and was not done. |
| Dates of receipt and delivery, and which member of staff handled each step | Accountability. This is the same information the shop’s paper register has always carried. |
This replaces the carbon-copy paper register the shop has used for years. It is the same information; it is simply searchable now, and it lets us tell you where your job has reached instead of asking you to telephone and find out.
Data stored on equipment you leave with us
A computer or phone left for repair may hold your personal files. We access them only so far as the repair requires — for example, to test that a repaired drive reads correctly. We do not copy them, retain them, or look through them for any other purpose.
We cannot guarantee your data against a hardware failure that has already begun. A drive brought to us because it is failing may fail completely during diagnosis. Please back up anything irreplaceable before handing equipment to us, or to anybody else.
WhatsApp messages about your job
We use WhatsApp to tell you that an estimate is ready, that a repair is finished, or that equipment can be collected. We do this only for a job you have actually given us, on the number you gave us for that job. We record which messages were sent and when.
We do not send marketing or promotional messages, and we do not add you to any broadcast list. If you would rather we telephoned, say so and we will.
3. The staff applications and Google Sign-In
Mahalaxmi Staff and Mahalaxmi Admin are internal Android applications. They are not available to the public, they are not distributed through the Play Store, and they can be used only by employees we have explicitly authorised. Members of the public have no account with us and cannot sign in.
Google user data we receive
Employees sign in with their Google account. We request only Google’s basic sign-in scopes — openid, email and profile — and from these we receive and store:
- the employee’s Google account identifier, to recognise the same person at the next sign-in;
- their email address, which is how we identify the employee and check them against our list of authorised staff;
- their name, so that entries in the register show who made them.
That is the entirety of the Google account data we receive. We do not request or receive access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, Photos or any other Google service, and we never receive or store a Google account password.
This data is used solely to authenticate the employee and to record who did what inside the application. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not transferred to anyone else, is not used to build any profile, and is not used for any purpose beyond running the shop’s register and staff functions.
Staff device information
Each authorised employee’s phone is registered against their account, so a signed-in session cannot simply be carried to another handset. For this we store the device’s Android identifier, its model name, and the version of the app installed. If an employee leaves, or a phone is lost, that device is revoked and stops working immediately.
Records of staff activity
The applications keep an audit record of significant actions — who signed in, who created or changed a job, who was granted or refused a permission. This is ordinary workplace accountability, and it is what allows a mistake in a customer’s record to be traced and put right.
Location, if and when attendance is enabled
The applications do not currently collect location, and no attendance monitoring is in operation. This section describes a feature planned for a later version, so that our staff know in advance what it will and will not do.
If staff attendance is switched on, the staff application will record location and nearby Wi-Fi network identifiers only between an employee’s check-in and check-out, to confirm attendance at the shop. It will not run outside those hours, and it will never be enabled without telling the employees concerned first. It applies to our own employees only, never to customers.
4. What we never do
- We do not sell personal information, and never have.
- We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or marketing companies.
- We do not use Google account data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not send unsolicited marketing messages.
- We do not transfer customer or staff data to any third party, except where the law requires it, or where a service is technically necessary to operate — our web and application hosting provider, and WhatsApp for the messages described above.
5. How long we keep information
Repair and sales records are kept for as long as they remain useful to you and to us — a device’s service history is the reason we can tell you what was replaced two years ago — and for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Staff account and device records are kept while the person is employed, and access is revoked when they leave. Web server logs are kept only briefly.
6. How information is protected
The website and the application are served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Records are held in a database that is not reachable from the public internet. Access requires an authorised account, and every request is checked against that account’s permissions on our server — not merely hidden in the app.
No system is perfect and we do not claim ours is. If you believe information held by us has been exposed, please tell us at once using the contact details above.
7. Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you, and what we have done with it;
- to correct anything wrong or out of date;
- to erase information we no longer need to keep;
- to withdraw a consent you have given — for example, to stop job updates on WhatsApp.
Ask us in person at the shop, by telephone, or by email, and we will act on it. There is no charge. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your records to somebody else.
8. Children
This website and these applications are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change is significant — attendance monitoring being switched on, for instance — the people affected will be told directly, not left to discover it here.
